History of the Faculty of Economics – Nimruz University

Modern societies consider their progress in various fields to be largely the result of the efforts of their young and dynamic population. Through different academic institutions—especially universities—these young individuals serve their nations and achieve significant accomplishments.

At the same time, by studying the history of countries that have reached distinguished positions in science and development, it becomes clear that the source of such transformations lies in the scientific, research, educational, and developmental programs and plans developed within academic institutions.

The Faculty of Economics at Nimruz University was established in 1398 Solar Hijri (2019/2020) with the aim of training professional and specialized personnel in economics and management within the framework of Nimruz Higher Education Institution. The faculty began its activities with two departments: National Economics and Administration and Commerce.

Currently, the faculty enrolls 195 students across these two departments. The academic staff consists of 9 faculty members, including 4 with Master’s degrees, 2 with Bachelor’s degrees, and 3 pursuing Master’s programs at domestic and international universities.

The Faculty of Economics aims to become a leading center for delivering scientific and economic concepts, strengthening academic competitiveness within the region in the near future.

The Faculty of Economics is committed to providing high-quality education, conducting scientific and applied research, and developing modern economic concepts to train skilled and efficient human resources. The faculty seeks to play a significant role in enhancing academic and economic competitiveness at the regional level.

Strategic Plan Objectives

Considering the current situation and projecting the status for the next five years, the Faculty of Economics, utilizing its human, financial, physical, and intangible resources, and aligning with the strategic plans of the Ministry of Higher Education and Nimruz Higher Education Institution, pursues the following strategic objectives:

  1. Enhancing the capacity of academic and administrative staff to Master’s and Doctoral levels.

  2. Expanding scientific and research activities.

  3. Training committed, specialized, and entrepreneurial human resources.

  4. Increasing cooperation and memoranda of understanding with educational and non-educational institutions to improve and develop positive academic relationships.

  5. Developing and equipping infrastructure.

  6. Expanding academic programs in line with societal needs.

  7. Improving quality and advancing through the second stage of quality assurance.
